Filoviruses, including Ebola, Sudan, and Marburg viruses, are a group of viruses known for causing severe hemorrhagic fevers in humans and nonhuman primates. These viruses are primarily found in sub-Saharan Africa, where they have caused several significant outbreaks.
Ebola virus, for instance, has several strains, with the Zaire strain being the most deadly. Sudan virus and Marburg virus also cause similar symptoms, such as fever, bleeding, and organ failure. Transmission typically occurs through direct contact with body fluids of infected individuals or animals.
Due to their severe impact on public health, filoviruses are a significant focus of research and global health initiatives aiming at developing effective treatments and vaccines.
Recently we released our new IgG ELISA test kits for Ebola, Marburg, and Sudan viruses (Research Use Only).
This development marks a significant step forward in the field of filovirus surveillance, addressing critical gaps and enhancing global capacities to monitor these deadly pathogens.
It helps in the early identification of outbreaks, allowing for timely intervention and containment measures.
Continuous monitoring aids in understanding the virus’s spread and mutation patterns, which is crucial for developing effective vaccines and treatments.
Effective surveillance systems enable health authorities to allocate resources efficiently and implement control measures to prevent widespread transmission
Our new ELISA test kits are designed to meet these needs with unparalleled precision and reliability.
We were pleased to work with the the scientists at the Kumasi Center for Collaborative Research (KCCR) in Ghana pre-release to note that they are already seeing excellent results with our Marburg IgG ELISA Kit in their research. We take pride in being one of the pioneers in the field of tropical infectious diseases and in being able to contribute to the advancement of research in such extremely dangerous diseases.
We invite you to reach out to us if you are interested in receiving more information about these test kits or visit our Products page for more details, or check out our poster presented at the American Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene (ASTMH) Annual Meeting 2023.
